Dr. Fang

Dr. Fang was graduated from Shanghai Medical College in 1940. He served as a chief doctor at a number of hospitals before he retired. At the present, he is still working for half a day a week at the expert clinic of a major hospital in Shanghai.

Dr. Fang excels in the treatment of cerebral diseases and kidney diseases. The former include epilepsy, migraine, cerebral thrombosis, aphasia and Parkinson’s disease, and latter include incretopathy, barrenness, urinary retention, prostatic disorders and nephritis. He has published over 30 research papers on those diseases.

Dr. Lu

Dr. Lu was graduated from Shanghai College of Chinese Medicine in 1977. After that she studied Western medicine systematically in her spare time. She is currently a chief doctor of traditional Chinese medicine in a hospital in Shanghai. She established a special clinic for kidney disorders in 1990, which soon started to attract numerous patients. At present, the clinic receives about 800 patients a month.

Dr. Lu excels in the treatment of various kidney disorders such as chronic nephritis, nephrotic syndrome, chronic renal failure and prostatitis. She is one of the most best-known experts in this area in Shanghai.


Some successful cases:
1. A twenty-two-year-old Mr. Zhao visited Dr. Lu in 1996 for chronic nephritis, from which he had suffered for four years. At the time of the first visit, the patient looked dark and gloomy, and complained of mild lumbago. His blood pressure was normal, but a urinary test showed that his urinary albumin was +++, and his red blood cells were +++. The patient had visited a number of other hospitals without much improvement. After he took the Chinese medicine prescribed by Dr. Lu for 7 consecutive days, the urinary albumin and red blood cells dropped to + and ++ respectively. Another seven days of treatment found that his urinary albumin had dropped to a negligible amount and red blood cells to +.

2. A 48-year-old Ms. Ye visited Dr. Lu in 1998 for nephrotic syndrome, from which she had suffered for three years when her 24-hour urinary albumin stayed at 3.5 g. Besides, she had hyperlipemia and high blood pressure. At the time of the first visit, she had visible symptoms of edema. Her urination had decreased to an abnormal level, her 24-hour urinary albumin was as high as 4.2 g , blood pressure was 150/100mg, her blood fat was 2.8, and her cholesterol level was 7. After taking the traditional Chinese medicine prescribed by Dr. Lu for one month, her symptoms of edema disappeared. She continued to take the medicine for one year until her urinary albumin disappeared. In the next two years, the results of urinary tests were all within the normal range. 3. A 40-year-old Mr. Zhou visited Dr. Lu in 1998 for prostatitis from which he had suffered for two years. He had received treatment in other hospitals of western medicine without much improvement. Laboratory tests of his prostatorrhoea were abnormal. After receiving Dr. Lu’s combined therapy of traditional Chinese and Western medicine for three months, his symptoms were remarkably improved. Dr. Yao

Dr. Yao was graduated from a medical college in 1964. He is currently Director of the Department of Internal Diseases of a major hospital in Shanghai. Starting from 1980, Dr. Yao's research focus has been on kidney diseases. He excels in the treatment of kidney function failure by combined therapy of traditional Chinese medicine and western medicine. The complete relief rate is 38.46%, and partial relief rate is 46.15%. This therapy is also able to defer the dialysis therapy of the patients. One of his patients, for instance, was able to defer the dialysis therapy for three and a half years. Another patient was able to stop the dialysis therapy after it had lasted for half a year and has been under the combined therapy of Chinese and western medicine for four years without having to take dialysis again. Besides, Dr. Yao has published nearly forty papers and co-authored two books, some of which were read at various domestic and international academic symposiums. Two of his projects won governmental prizes. Dr. Yao is Secretary of Shanghai Association of Combined Therapy of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Western Medicine for Kidney Diseases.

Some successful cases:
1. A sixty-seven-year-old lady visited Dr. Yao on September 30, 1999 for nephrotic syndrome and membranous nephropathy, which had been diagnosed ten months before at another hospital in Shanghai. She had stayed in that hospital for eight months without much improvement. At the time of the visit, the patient had symptoms of edema, insomnia and weakness. Her urinary albumin was +++ and her serum albumin was 36g/L. Three weeks after she began to receive Dr. Yao's combined therapy of Chinese medicine and western medicine, her urinary albumin dropped to +, and it returned to normal three months later. She is still under Dr. Chen's treatment.

2. A thirty-two-year-old Mr. Su visited Dr. Yao for nephrotic syndrome, which he had developed ten years before. At the time of the first visit, his urinary albumin was +++; the red blood cells were 0-2/HP; the white blood cells were 5-7/HP; and the blood albumin was 2.8g/dl. Sixteen days after he began to receive Dr. Yao's combined therapy of traditional Chinese medicine and western medicine, his urinary albumin began to drop. He stayed in the hospital for only 38 days before he was discharged.

Dr. Zhen

Dr. Zhen was graduated from Shanghai College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in 1964. In 1986, he got his doctoral degree in medicine at Fuyama Medical Institute of Japan. He is currently Director of the Nephropathy Department of a major hospital in Shanghai. Dr. Zhen excels in the treatment of the deficiency of the kidney, chronic kidney function failure, lithanguria and other difficult and complicated disorders of the urinary system. He invented a new animal model of chronic kidney function failure and an animal model of the kidney-yang deficiency according to traditional Chinese medicine, which have both been put to extensive application. In the past two decades, Dr. Zhen has published over forty papers on kidney disorders in medical journals in China, Japan, Britain, the United States and Switzerland. Besides, he has been awarded a number of governmental prizes. Dr. Zhen is member of the Kidney Disorders Committee of China Association of Engineering Medicine, Executive Director of Shanghai Association of Medicine, and Chairman of Shanghai Cooperation Center of Traditional Chinese Medicine for Kidney Disorders. In addition, he was a guest researcher of Fuyama Medical Institute and Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Japan in 1987 and 1989.

Some successful cases:
1. A four-year-old boy visited Dr. Zhen on November 19, 1997. Three days before, the patient had had sudden acute pains in his sides and abdomen. The pains were relieved after an emergency treatment. An examination showed that there was a stone with a size of 5x6mm in the upper part of his ureter. After taking Dr. Zhen's prescription for five consecutive days, he discharged a small stone. Thereupon his symptoms disappeared, and a reexamination showed that the stone in his ureter had disappeared. (Note: A research showed that the effective rate of this prescription with sixty subjects was 72.5%. This research was awarded a second prize for progress in science and technology by Shanghai municipal government in 1999.)

2. A seventy-four-year-old Mrs Zhou visited Dr. Zhen on May 18, 1998 for dizziness, vomiting after taking food, extreme fatigue, and slight swelling in her legs. The patient had a history of urinary tract infection for twenty years. Her symptoms had experienced a number of ups and downs despite the efforts of the doctors of both Chinese and western medicine. In 1991, she had symptoms of anemia and kidney function failure. After she was treated, her kidney function became stable. Starting from the beginning of 1998, she had symptoms of dizziness, cardiopalmus, indigestion and loss of appetite, and spasms in her legs. An examination of her kidney function showed that the BuN was 14.0mmol/L and the Hb was 8.6g%. After she took Dr. Zhen's prescription of Chinese medicine for half a year, her symptoms showed remarkable improvement, and her kidney function became stable. The BuN was 10.0mmol/L; the SCV was 200.0umol/L; and the Hb was about Hb.0g%. She was then able to take walks and do light physical exercise without help. Another half a year later, she was even able to travel to the United States to visit her relatives. She is still under Dr. Zhen's treatment. (Note: A research showed that the effective rate of this prescription with 100 subjects was 82.4%.
