Dr. Wang

Dr. Wang was graduated from Shanghai University of Chinese Medicine in 1981. He is currently Director of the Department of Chinese Medicine of a major hospital in Shanghai.

With long years of clinical practice and teaching, Dr. Wang is good at treating various difficult and complicated cases, including migraine, trigeminal neuralgia, epilepsy, apoplexy, climacteric metancholia, geriatric disease, chronic renal insufficiency, chronic nephritis, chronic enteritis and chronic tracheitis.

Dr. Wang has published twelve books and over two hundred papers one of which, namely Major Studies of the Yellow Emperor’s Canon of Internal Medicine, was awarded a first prize for achievements in science and technology by China State Publishing Bureau.

A successful case:
1. A fifty-two-year-old man visited Dr. Wang for cirrhosis of the liver in 1999. He had suffered from acute B-type hepatitis in 1984 when his glutamic-pyruvic transaminase reached 500. After one month’s treatment in the hospital, his symptoms returned to normal. In the fifteen years in between, his glutamic-pyruvic transaminase rose to a slightly abnormal level once but it returned to normal quickly after combined therapy of Chinese and western medicine. In March 1993, the patient had symptoms of weight loss, physical weakness, abdominal fullness and loss of appetite. B-type ultrasonic examination showed abdonimal dropsy, and laboratory tests showed abnormal function of the liver. These symptoms were diagnosed as “cirrhosis past compensatory period”. He was hospitalized for some time till the function of the liver returned to normal. One month later, he consulted Dr. Wang when his symptoms appeared again.

The results of laboratory tests:
ALT92U/L, AKP424U/L, gamma-GT369U/L. AB26umol/L, AFP248U/L, HbsAg(+), HbeAg(+), HBV-DNA(+), A/G:0.91. B-type ultra-sonic examination showed low-level abdonimal dropsy.
After receiving Dr. Wang’s treatment for two months, his symptoms were alleviated; half a year later, his liver function returned to normal. The abdominal dropsy disappeared, and he was able to do some light work. The treatment continued for another half a year in order to prevent any relapse. His conditions have been stable since then.
