Some successful cases:
1. A sixty-three-year-old Mr. Chen visited Dr. Huang in 1998 for symptoms of coronary heart disease. Prior to that he had been hospitalized in another hospital for two months but without much improvement. He complained of frequent startles in the middle of sleeps at night. He looked listless, his heart rate was 56 per minute with frequent premature beats, and his blood pressure was Bp 90/60 mmHg. Dr. Huang observed that his tongue was dark with a white coating, and his pulse was rather weak. Electrocardioscopy showed that he had sinus brachycardia (with a slowest heart rate of 46 per minute) and atrial premature beat. His symptoms were diagnosed as coronary heart disease and weakened functioning of the sinoatrial node. Dr. Huang treated him with the method of tonifying Qi to recover the circulation of blood, warming Yang and introducing resuscitation, and relieving the uneasiness of the body and mind. After taking Dr. Huang’s prescriptions for two consecutive weeks, the patient’s symptoms were remarkably improved. Dr. Huang then gave him another medication. Two months later, the patient’s heart rate increased to about 70 per minute, and his blood pressure rose to 105/75mmHg. All the symptoms were greatly relieved and his midnight startles were under control. His other diseases such as chronic antral gastritis, duodenal ulcer, chronic colonitis and bronchitis also showed visible improvement.

2. A fifty-two-year-old Ms Zhang visited Dr. Huang for palpitation, sense of suppression in the chest, chest pain and frequent premature heart beat in 1999. She had got the disease ten years before after she contracted the virus flu. It was diagnosed as myocarditis. In the ten years in between, she had frequent relapse of those symptoms, especially when she caught cold. A physical examination at Dr. Huang’s hospital showed that her heart beat was 76 per minute with 4 to 5 premature beats. Electrocardiogram showed frequent premature beats. Dr. Huang treated her with methods of strengthening the body resistance to eliminate pathogenic factors, tonifying Qi to strengthen the pulse, promoting blood circulation and removing blood stasis, and relieving the uneasiness of the body and mind. After she took Dr. Huang’s prescriptions of Chinese medicine for over one month, her symptoms had basically disappeared, her premature beat was under control, and her electrocardiogram became normal. The patient is still on regular visits to Dr. Huang.

He had to carry a cardiac pacemaker all the time. After he received Dr. Yuan's treatment of traditional Chinese medicine and did physical exercise under the doctor's supervision, his heart rate rose to 50 to 60 per minute and even to 71 per minute after doing physical exercise. After one year's treatment by Dr. Yuan, his heart rate stayed around 60 per minute. His own feeling became much improved. An examination found that the atrioventricular block had disappeared though he still had occasional premature beats. He is working like other normal people and has no feeling of premature beat any more. He is still on regular visits to Dr. Yuan.
